Ibiza’s first Ayurvedic Centre opening now in Atzaro Spa

The ancient holistic science of Ayurveda is now available in Ibiza in the beautiful spa of Atzaro.   You have the opportunity to receive a consultation from the  Ayurvedic doctor (a minimum of 7 years of studies are necessary…), Dr. Mahesh Patil ( M.D.), who has his own clinics in India. He  used to work in various European countries including Spain, Germany, Austria and more) to propagate the Ayurvedic science. He is also an Ayurvedic teacher in the Tel Aviv University, in Israel and soon will go to USA for the same purpose. You now no longer need to travel to Kerala to benefit from this wonderful natural medical science.

So how does it work?

There are 8 arms of Ayurva which include massage and oil treatments, internal purgation treatments, “Dara” hot oil treatments, herbal applications and ingestions, yoga, meditation and other participatory practices that deepen and extend the benefits.

Well… it begins with a one-to-one analysis. On the first day, Dr Mahesh Patil will analyze your personal “Prakruti” and “Vikriti”, constitution-body type and will detect any imbalances by video-conference on “Skype” with India.

He then creates a prescriptive program of Ayurvedic treatments to be taken as well as the medicinal plants you should take according to your physical and mental condition.

The day after day, Claudine Pinet a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner who graduated from the International Academy of Ayurveda from Pune, India, will provide you with the appropriate treatments proposed by Dr. Mahesh Patil. The initial schedule may evolve according to the way your body reacts to the treatments.

So how can Ayurveda Benefit me?

Treatments are prescriptive – and very flexible: according to the first consultation some treatments may be replaced by others, for example:

* Intense rejuvenating programs – for boosting vital energy: Snehapana and Virechana may be recommended as well as other treatments

* Anti-cellulite – anti obesity may include Jambira pinda sweda, lepana and Udvartana, Niruha basti.

* And to relieve the pain and discomfort of arthritis:  We will add more Shashtic pinda sweda, Sneha basti.

* If you are interested in an anti-depression and anti-stress program: They may propose more Shirodhara , Sneha basti , Nasya, Shiro-abhyanga , Pada-abhyanga.

You can even experience an intense detoxification for those who would like to be helped by Ayurveda to free themselves from addictions. This is a very specific and long-term treatment. A precise consultation will have to be done with the doctor: the healing of toxicity being one of the 8 specific Ayurvedic branches.

Sessions of introduction to Ayurveda and its philosophy, online lectures, discussions as well as books and movies on Ayurveda will be offered and recommended so that you better understand the treatments you receive.

Opportunities of doing Yoga, Pranayama and meditation practices are part of the Ayurvedic way of living and healing, will be proposed on request.

“I discovered Pilates through a friend of mine who danced with the Royal Ballet & had sustained an injury.  She invited me along to her Pilates session in the late 1980’s with Alan Herdman in his studio in Marble Arch, London. I watched her receive the Pilates instruction through a series of controlled graceful movements, on some very alien looking equipment based on springs & pulleys that I had never seen before.  And in my heart and my body…. I immediately knew that this was what I had been searching for.
After 2 months of doing Pilates 2- 3 times a week, I started to experience the amazing effects it was having on my body:

(1) I discovered deep intrinsic postural muscles that I didnʼt know existed

(2) I began to feel the internal strength I craved.

(3) My movements became more controlled, fluid & responsive.

(4) I was standing straighter & feeling more energised than ever

(5) I could see the effects of bulky muscles elongating & my flexibility increased tenfold.

Pilates can & does change the way you relate to your body & the way you carry it into the world.”

Make pain your friend…

The body is a naturally re-balancing mechanism. When we are out of balance, pain arises and our state of mind, as well as our body, changes.

A loop can happen within the mind… our nervous system sending feedback loops like – “I am in pain” “it hurts” – or even, when it becomes too intense, something more similar to a white noise effect, blocking out all other sensory awareness.

When pain becomes the dominant thoughts and feelings (and is preventing you from moving freely and with ease) Just STOP! look within and listen to your inner voice, the quiet, simple words of your intuitive inner-knowings.

First: accept the pain.

Its there, so accept it being there. The more we resist it being there, the more energy we are sending it and the stronger and bigger it becomes.
Simply accepting it allows you to relax about it to a certain degree. With this release of mental and physical resistance your body can already begin healing as the blood can carry the fresh oxygenated cells to the area of discomfort.

Second: breathe – slowly and deeply, through your body, bringing your hands onto your abdomen to direct your breathe. Then bring your hands to the place where the pain is. If it is on the back of your body just one hand is fine. It has been proven that by bringing your hands / touching the point of the body that requires healing, energy and awareness is naturally directed there. Simply, scientific fact. Add the extra layer of the breathing and imagine the colour that is most soothing, visualise this colour flowing there and notice the positive effects.

Third: ask yourself, what is the cause of this pain? Pain is a symptom of a discomfort deeper down. Caused by an inbalance, an accident caused by…. what exactly? What has been going on in our subconscious that we have not looked at or listened to? (As our subconscious is so mostly over-ridden and talked over by our fast-moving, anxious, monkey conscious mind.

Notice the first things that come up…. is it something you have to change? to do differently? to let go…. Where you moving to fast? Or too “in your head”? What was causing the stress that was causing you to trip or fall, or rip or tear?

And now… thanking the pain….. for the message…. (and notice how GRATITUDE is a balm for body AND soul) what can you choose to do more harmoniously, more consciously?
