International Yoga Teacher Trainer, Professional athlete, World Cup Skier, Lisa effortlessly transfers the teaching expertise gained from teaching skiing to teaching yoga. Lisa currently teaches yoga between Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia, focusing on workshops for foundational skills and training aspiring yoga teachers
Dynamic and intuitive, Lisa’s innate understanding of anatmoy and physiology and acute body-awareness comes both from being a professional athlete and a body-worker and multi-level therapist for over 25 years.
While still a child, Lisa was introduced to yoga in the late ’60’s through a daily black and white TV program, and has loved it from that day onwards. When she was travelling the world in the ’80’s as a member of the Australian Ski team, to support her athletic endeavours, she practiced yoga daily, using a tattered book on yoga that travelled with her everywhere she went. In 2000, inspired by attending her first ever actual yoga class, in beautiful Margaret River, Australia, Lisa decided then and there that she wanted to teach yoga, to share the benefits she experienced personally from that class with as many people as possible. It was a true ‘light-bulb’ moment, clear and obvious. Since that time, her life has been dedicated to the study of yoga and living a true yogic lifestyle.
Glenn Ceresoli, a senior advanced Iyengar teacher has been Lisa’s principal teacher for many years. First studying and now co-teaching with Lance Schuler of Inspya, with his Iyengar/Hatha/Vinyasa background, has greatly influenced and nourished her. However, with the ongoing teaching of Clive Sheridan, a true yogi who learnt first hand from the Indian Rishis, Lisa has experienced profound insight into yoga, and delights in sharing a delicious mix of these principles with her students.
Lisa’s background as a natural therapist means she has a broad understanding of physical, mental and energetic principles. Having founded both Ambrosia (health foods and healing center) and Zaza Yoga a specialised Yoga center in Martigny, Switzerland, her life and business experience enables her to offer practical advice to yogis for taking their trainings beyond the studio/classroom and out into the modern world. With a warm heart and terrible sense of humour (she is the only one who laughs at her jokes), Lisa brings her students to a deeper understanding of this fine ancestral practice with much love, patience, kindness and … best of all … joy and fun. She focuses on precise alignment in order to bring the body and subtle energy systems towards greater balance and harmony, paving the way for deep inner transformation.
